Pakistan Views Joint Gas Project with Iran as Vital

Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, met with the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, to discuss bilateral relations. They emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments to boost trade and economic ties. The Speaker highlighted the significance of leveraging Iran and Pakistan’s geographic locations to enhance regional and global trade.

He stressed the need to strengthen bilateral trade along shared borders and address technical issues to facilitate economic cooperation. Pakistan welcomed increased economic collaboration with Iran, including the exchange of trade and business delegations. The Speaker also underscored the importance of a joint gas project with Iran to meet Pakistan’s energy requirements.

The Iranian ambassador expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s recent elections and the formation of its new government. He expressed Iran’s readiness to enhance parliamentary friendship groups, collaborate in regional and international forums, bolster parliamentary diplomacy, and facilitate delegation exchanges between the two countries.
