Pakistan Secures Deal to Sell 12 Super Mushshak Aircraft to Zimbabwe, Furthering Export Success
Pakistan has clinched a contract to export 12 MFI-17 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft to Zimbabwe, marking another achievement in its recent export ventures following the deal with China for JF-17 jets.
The agreement was reached during a security expo held in Islamabad in 2022, highlighting Zimbabwe’s efforts to modernize its military. The Super Mushshak, certified by the US, boasts a piston engine, a glass cockpit, and advanced control systems.
Zimbabwe’s decision to purchase aircraft from Pakistan mirrors a trend observed in other African countries like Nigeria. This move by Zimbabwe is partly driven by responses to sanctions imposed by Western nations.
Despite facing challenges with its current aircraft fleet, Zimbabwe’s collaboration with Nigeria will aid in enhancing capabilities and addressing safety concerns. This partnership underscores Pakistan’s increasing influence in the aviation sector and its capacity to cater to the needs of diverse countries.
