Pakistan to Receive Modern Agricultural Machinery from Russia

Russia has committed to providing modern agricultural machinery to Pakistan, aimed at boosting crop yields and enhancing agricultural productivity. This announcement was made by Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Aleksei Gruzdev during his meeting with Pakistan’s Minister for Industries, Production, and National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain, in Islamabad.

During their discussions, both officials highlighted the importance of achieving a balanced trade relationship between the two nations. Rana Tanveer emphasized the necessity for advanced agricultural technology and assured that the government would facilitate Russian investors operating in Pakistan.

In addition, Pakistan and Russia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in economic and trade sectors. The signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.

The MoU, signed by Farhan Tahir, Acting Managing Director of the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), and Igor Artemyev, President of the Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX), marks a significant step in enhancing trade ties.

Pakistan also announced its accession to the MoU on the Creation and Development of the International Transport Corridor linking Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
