Pakistan is getting ready to launch another satellite after their first one, iCUBE, went to the moon. This new satellite, called MM1, will be sent into space on May 30. MM1 is a joint project between SUPARCO and the National Space Agency. It’s going to help make better communication systems.
MM1 is specially made to improve internet services, especially the fast 5G internet, in Pakistan.
iCUBE Qamar, Pakistan’s first lunar mission, successfully reached the moon’s orbit just three days ago. Now, MM1 is set to go into space.
MM1 is built to work in really harsh conditions, with temperatures as low as minus 100 degrees Celsius. It has a small but powerful camera that can take pictures even with very little power available. It will send images back at a slow rate, but they will still be helpful for studying the moon’s surface. These pictures will give us important information about things like where craters are, if there’s water, and if there are any signs of ice on the moon. This information could be useful for people all around the world.
