Pakistan has confirmed its second case of mpox, as reported by a spokesperson from the Health Ministry.

The patient, who arrived from a Gulf country, was immediately transferred to a hospital by staff at Peshawar airport upon showing symptoms consistent with mpox. Medical evaluation and testing subsequently confirmed the presence of the mpox virus.

Sources indicate that the patient, a 30-year-old from Nowshera, exhibited skin rashes and arrived in Peshawar from a Gulf country on Thursday night. The individual is currently receiving treatment at Hayatabad Medical Complex, specifically in the mpox isolation ward. Reports suggest that the patient is stable and expected to be discharged soon. Additionally, the federal government plans to conduct further tests to determine the specific variant of the virus.
