Pakistan was honored as the country of the year at the 8th China-South Asia Expo in Kunming from July 23 to 28. The Pakistan Pavilion, modeled after Lahore Fort, featured over 170 stalls showcasing a variety of products, including furniture, carpets, fresh fruits, handicrafts, and jewelry.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi highlighted the event’s role in strengthening economic ties and regional integration. He expressed pride in the diverse display of Pakistani products, reflecting the country’s rich culture and economic potential.
A standout feature was the mango display curated by Dr. Adnan Hafeez, which featured over a ton of mangoes in three varieties: Sindhri, Langra, and SB Chaunsa. Dr. Hafeez hoped this would help introduce Pakistani mangoes to Chinese consumers.
The expo, along with the 28th China Kunming Import and Export Fair, drew more than 2,000 enterprises from 82 countries, emphasizing its importance for economic cooperation and cultural exchange.
