Pakistan has approved digital visas for citizens of 126 countries, allowing them to enter the country without a visa for business and tourism. This decision, approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal cabinet, aims to boost investment and trade.
The cabinet also approved special courts under the SECP Act 1997, signed a memorandum of understanding with Denmark, and increased the number of members on the Privatization Commission Board.
Prime Minister Sharif said the new visa policy will make it easier for investors and tourists to visit Pakistan, including those coming for religious tourism. The visa process will be quick, with approvals within 24 hours via an electronic travel authorization form.
Additionally, e-gates will be set up at nine airports and Gwadar port, with the first phase covering Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports.
