The IMMAF Asian Championships concluded in Lahore yesterday, bringing an end to an exciting International Combat Week that began with BRAVE CF 85. Pakistan delivered a commendable performance as the host nation, securing 2 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals throughout the event.
Bano Butt kicked off the final day with a stellar performance, earning Pakistan’s first gold medal in the senior women’s atomweight division by defeating Kazakhstan’s Gulnaz Abdrakhmanova. Eman Khan followed up with Pakistan’s second gold, clinching victory in the senior women’s flyweight division against Kazakhstan’s Dinara Ayapova.
Kazakh fighter Adel Makhametova prevented Pakistan from claiming a third gold by emerging victorious over Bushra Ahmad in the senior women’s bantamweight division. Ahmad had been the only Asian opponent that Makhametova had not previously defeated in her career.
Additional silver medals were won by Shahab Ali, Zeeshan Akbar, and Abdul Manan in the senior men’s lightweight division, junior men’s bantamweight division, and junior men’s flyweight division, respectively.
