ISLAMABAD — The 7th session of the Pakistan-Türkiye Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) took place on Monday, with Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nuh Yilmaz, leading the discussions.
The meeting covered a broad range of topics including political relations, trade and investment, energy, security and defense, information technology, culture, tourism, education, and consular matters. The two sides also reviewed their cooperation in multilateral and regional forums.
A key focus was the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC). Both parties agreed to schedule its 7th session in Islamabad soon. They expressed satisfaction with the strong defense and security collaboration and committed to enhancing this cooperation through joint ventures and new technologies.
Additionally, the two countries resolved to boost bilateral trade and investment. They agreed to fully implement existing agreements, expedite discussions on new agreements, and update the Pakistan-Türkiye Strategic Economic Framework (SEF).
