According to reports from local Pakistani media “The Frontier Post,” the Ambassador of Iran in Islamabad addressed the business community, highlighting the potential for boosting bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran. He emphasized the importance of air, rail, and maritime integration in doubling trade between the two countries. These efforts, he noted, would not only benefit regional trade but also have a global impact.

The Ambassador stressed the strategic significance of Pakistan and Iran due to their geographic locations, acting as connecting points between the Middle East, South Asia, and Central Asia. He highlighted the progress made in opening 12 border trade markets between the two countries, with six already operational.

Furthermore, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in mega projects like the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). These projects, he believes, hold significant potential to stabilize economic relations and foster prosperity in the region.

The Ambassador also discussed opportunities for cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, industry, halal products, tourism, and the knowledge economy. He encouraged participation in upcoming industrial exhibitions to enhance mutual cooperation between the business communities of both countries.
