Pakistan and China Commit to Advancing CPEC with New Development Initiatives
In a significant development, Pakistan and China have agreed to elevate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to a new phase of development. During a high-level meeting in Beijing between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Xi Jinping, both leaders emphasized the importance of CPEC as a cornerstone of their bilateral relationship and as a critical driver of economic growth in Pakistan.
The second phase of CPEC will focus on expanding regional connectivity, boosting industrial development, and further integrating Pakistan’s economy with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
