ISLAMABAD: The Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) has revealed that it will offer scholarships to 12 Pakistani students at the prestigious University of Oxford. This announcement came on the heels of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day celebrations, with the selected students set to start their studies this fall.
The OPP is described as the “first initiative of its kind” aimed at improving the representation of Pakistani and British-Pakistani students at Oxford University. The program was established by Pakistani academics and Oxford alumni to address the lack of Pakistani students at the university and to provide opportunities for those who might not otherwise afford the high cost of education.
In a social media post on X, the OPP expressed pride in welcoming a new cohort of 12 outstanding scholars. This initiative reflects a commitment to broadening access and supporting Pakistan-related activities at one of the world’s most prestigious institutions.
