In a tragic case of gender-based violence, a man in Nowshera has been arrested for killing his sister following a dispute over Fajr prayers. The incident occurred in the Hakimabad area, involving an Afghan refugee family.
According to the police report, Mewa Gul, the father of the siblings, lodged a First Information Report (FIR) detailing the events. He recounted that the family, including his daughter Asma, was asleep when his son Hamza attempted to wake Asma for the morning prayers. The situation escalated into an argument, leading Hamza to shoot Asma in a fit of rage.
After the fatal shooting, Hamza fled the scene. The police recovered the pistol used in the crime and have initiated a search for the accused. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities exploring all aspects of the case.
