ISLAMABAD (APP) – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf inaugurated the Bahria University College of Medicine (BUCM) in the Federal Capital on Thursday.
During the ceremony, Admiral Ashraf commended Bahria University for its significant contributions to quality education across various disciplines, as reported in a Pakistan Navy news release. He emphasized that, despite the challenges and opportunities ahead, BUCM is poised to become a leading institution for medical education.
The Naval Chief highlighted the essential role of faculty professionalism, commitment, and dedication in establishing the college as one of the foremost medical institutes in the country.
In his welcome address, Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral (R) Asif Khaliq acknowledged the invaluable support from the Pakistan Navy in the development of the campus. The Project Director of Bahria University Health Sciences Islamabad provided details about the initiative, showcasing the facilities available for students.
Admiral Ashraf also toured various facilities on the campus, praising the state-of-the-art infrastructure. The inauguration was attended by senior officials from the Health Ministry, Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Higher Education Commission, former rectors, faculty members, and students of Bahria University.
