The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is urging Pakistani citizens to cut back on making photocopies of essential documents like national identity cards and family registration certificates.
In their advisory, NADRA clarified that for most transactions, only the original documents are needed. Citizens can simply show their originals or provide their NADRA-issued numbers. Photocopies are only required in specific situations where documents can’t be accessed online.
NADRA also highlighted the potential security risks associated with unnecessary photocopying, as these copies could be misused by unauthorized individuals. To help ensure citizens’ safety, NADRA has set up multiple channels for reporting instances where staff may request unnecessary photocopies. Complaints can be filed online at [NADRA Complaints] or through their Central Complaint Management System.
