Microsoft Founder Bill Gates Makes Second Visit to Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating polio from Pakistan during a meeting in Islamabad with Bill Gates and officials from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

This visit marks Bill Gates’ second trip to Pakistan, following his earlier meeting with then-Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2022.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for the continuous support from BMGF in the fight against polio and stressed the importance of ongoing efforts. He highlighted collaborative initiatives between the federal and provincial governments, including recent vaccination campaigns.

Medical professionals are urging people to stay hydrated, stay indoors as much as possible, and take precautions to avoid heatstroke and other heat-related conditions.

The discussions also encompassed broader areas of cooperation, such as leveraging digital technologies for economic development and other mutual benefits.
