Microsoft Edge is testing a feature that allows users to translate videos from various websites, including YouTube, into different languages.
According to a statement issued by Microsoft, using Artificial Intelligence (AI), trials have begun to translate videos from websites such as YouTube, LinkedIn, and others. Initially, translations from English to Spanish and vice versa have been tested, with plans to include other languages sequentially.
In the future, Microsoft Edge’s browser may include an AI tool for translation. By clicking on it, users will be able to hear videos in their preferred language. A video released by the company demonstrates that after clicking on the option to translate a video viewed on LinkedIn, the audio of the video is converted into another language.
Under this feature, if users prefer to listen to any English video in another language, they will simply go to the translation feature, select the language, and the running video will automatically start translating into voice, with the voice being the same as that of the original video.
This feature allows videos from various websites, including YouTube, to be translated directly in Microsoft Edge.
It is speculated that in the future, Microsoft may introduce a feature to translate videos from major websites such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, among others.
