Maryam Nawaz Halts Illegal Land Transactions in RUDA Area
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently chaired a special meeting of the River Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), where she received a comprehensive briefing on ongoing and completed projects.
In a decisive move, she ordered an immediate halt to the illegal sale and purchase of land within the RUDA jurisdiction. To bolster enforcement, the chief minister approved the establishment of a special police force dedicated to preventing encroachments on RUDA’s land.
Imran Amin, CEO of RUDA, provided updates on the authority’s initiatives, highlighting plans for collaboration with China and other international organizations to expedite the completion of various projects.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Nawaz was informed of significant progress in increasing the forest area within the RUDA region from 20 percent to 35 percent. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the advancements made on RUDA’s international project concerning twin cities, showcasing the authority’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
