Major Changes to Passing Marks and Grace Marks Policy
In a significant update to Pakistan’s education system, the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has introduced new regulations that will affect students nationwide. Starting from the next academic year, all educational boards will implement a policy requiring a minimum of seven grace marks for students in board exams.
New Passing Marks and Grace Marks Policy
IBCC Executive Director Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah announced that the minimum passing marks for students will increase from 33 to 40. This change aims to raise academic standards and better reflect students’ proficiency.
In addition to this increase in passing marks, the introduction of mandatory grace marks is part of a broader educational reform initiative. This new policy will provide students with additional support to help them meet the new passing criteria. Dr. Mallah emphasized that these changes are designed to ease the transition to higher academic standards while ensuring students receive the necessary assistance to succeed.
