Man Visits Police Station for Complaint, Ends Up with Jalebis

In a strange turn of events, a man went to a police station to report his lost phone and ended up leaving with a kilo of Jalebis instead.

Chanchal Kumar from Kanaur village visited the Bahadurgarh police station after losing his phone during a trip to buy medicine. Desperate to recover his device, he sought help from the police.

In a twist that would seem more at home in a comedy, an officer told Kumar he could either bring Balushahi or Jalebi to the station as a condition for getting assistance. Facing this unexpected requirement, Kumar chose to buy a kilogram of Jalebis from a nearby shop.

The incident, which happened over the weekend, highlighted a local saying popularized by the film *Laapata Ladies*: “Chhota dukh chori, bada dukh thana,” meaning dealing with theft is less of a problem compared to dealing with the police. Kumar’s experience seemed to live up to that saying, turning a routine complaint into an unusual encounter with sweets.
