A man got the shock of his life when he found out he had been paying his neighbor’s electricity bill for almost 20 years!

Ken Wilson, who has lived in his Solano County apartment since 2006, noticed his electricity bill from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) kept going up, despite his efforts to use less power.

Determined to figure out what was going on, he even turned off his breakers and kept checking his meter, but it was still running. Confused, he went to the PG&E office.

“I couldn’t believe it,” said Wilson. “Even after turning everything off, the meter was still ticking!”

The utility company staff were equally puzzled. They suggested it could be a leak, electricity theft, or a faulty meter. After a thorough check of his home, they finally found the problem—Wilson had been paying for his neighbor’s electricity all these years!

It turns out the mix-up had been going on since the day he moved in. PG&E admitted their mistake and assured Wilson they would adjust his bill to make things right.
