On Thursday, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck several districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Swat and Lower Dir, sending residents into a frenzy as they hurriedly evacuated their homes.

The Seismological Centre reported that the quake, originating from a depth of 104 kilometers, had its epicenter in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Residents across the affected regions experienced noticeable tremors, with many describing the ground as shaking significantly. Despite the quake’s intensity, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage from the capital or its adjacent areas.

In the aftermath, locals emerged from their homes in alarm and began reciting verses from the Holy Quran. Thankfully, no fatalities or structural damage have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
