Life-Saving Early Warning Meteorological System Goes Live at Gwadar Port
A new early warning meteorological system is now operational at Gwadar Port to help identify and manage weather and climate-related risks in the area.
This system provides disaster risk knowledge, detection, monitoring, analysis, forecasting, and communication, aiming to protect lives, livelihoods, and property.
China Meteorological Administration assisted in setting up the system. In April, they provided Pakistan with equipment, including a mobile observation system, a Beidou Navigation sounding station, three automatic weather stations (with two backups), and a large screen.
