KP Food Authority Debunks Rumors of Dog Meat in Restaurants

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Authority has decisively refuted recent social media claims about the presence of dog meat in local restaurants, labeling them as entirely false.

Addressing viral allegations that raids had uncovered dog meat in various eateries across the province, a spokesperson from the authority denounced these reports as fabrications aimed at instilling unnecessary fear and damaging the food industry’s reputation.

Director General Wasif Saeed also spoke out against the rumors, urging the public to dismiss these baseless claims. He stressed the importance of relying on official statements from the authorities rather than unverified social media rumors.

Saeed reassured the public that routine inspections of hotels and restaurants are conducted throughout the province to ensure adherence to food safety standards. He expressed concern over the spread of such misinformation, which not only creates undue panic but also undermines the trust between consumers and the food industry.
