Karachi police have arrested six women from a gang that used hypnosis to rob people by gaining entry to their homes under false pretenses.

According to SSP Malir Dr. Uzair Ahmed, the gang had been active in multiple cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, and other areas in Punjab. They would target families by posing as job seekers or offering sewing services, distracting their victims with stories while their male accomplices entered the homes to steal valuables.

The arrested women, identified as Sahiba (alias Hina), Babli Maqbool, Kaneez Farid, Sahiba Fatima, and Lubna Shah, have been recognized by two affected families. Police recovered Rs. 4 million from their possession.

The gang would travel to Karachi for their crimes, staying in budget hotels in the Saddar area, and then return to Punjab after the robberies. The male members provided transportation for the women.

Several cases have been registered against the gang across various cities, including Lahore, Khairpur, Sukkur, and Karachi’s Steel Town and Bin Qasim Town. Police are now conducting raids to apprehend the remaining members of the 25-member gang who are still on the run.
