A Peshawar-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK-284, was forced to make an emergency landing at Dubai International Airport due to a technical fault, ARY News reports.
According to aviation sources, the flight, which took off from Dubai, encountered the issue just 50 minutes into its journey. Passengers were safely transported to the airport lounge for health checks and further assessment.
This incident follows a similar emergency landing involving an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 cargo plane on August 27. The flight, en route from Addis Ababa to Ahmedabad, India, had to divert to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport after failing to land at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft attempted a landing but was unable to do so, prompting Air Traffic Control (ATC) to instruct the pilot to go around at 1,500 feet before ultimately diverting the flight, ET 3644, to Karachi.
