On Friday, Karachi was the scene of the largest robbery of the year, as thieves made off with over Rs23.2 million from a citizen who had just withdrawn the money from a bank. The incident occurred near II Chundrigarh Road, and a robbery case has been filed at Mithadar Police Station.
The robbery took place in broad daylight when the victim, Muhammad Bilal, was ambushed by the robbers as he exited the bank. They stole the money in the parking lot, and the security guard who tried to intervene was severely injured and has since been hospitalized.
The Karachi Police have launched an extensive investigation into the crime. According to officials, the robbers fled the scene on a motorcycle, and efforts are underway to locate them.
A senior police officer stated, “We are examining CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify and capture the suspects.”
The police are appealing to the public for assistance. “We urge anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information about the suspects to report it to the nearest police station,” the officer added.
