Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, swiftly reclaimed his title as the world’s second-richest person just a day after being surpassed by Tesla’s head, Elon Musk, according to Forbes.

However, despite this reversal, Bezos, aged 60, still trails behind Bernard Arnault, aged 75, the magnate behind LVMH, who currently holds the title of the world’s wealthiest individual.

Bezos’ net worth now stands at $201.5 billion, boosted by a $511 million surge in value driven partly by a modest rise in Amazon shares, which climbed over 0.5% as of noon on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk, aged 52, with a net worth of $198.4 billion, found himself in third place after Tesla shares experienced a 3% decline on Wednesday, dropping to approximately $181 per share.

Tesla shares, however, have rebounded by nearly 28% in the past month, partly due to reported collaborations between Tesla and Chinese internet giant Baidu to introduce electric vehicles to China.

Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and X, held either the first or second spot on Forbes’ real-time billionaire list from August 2021 until March 6, when Bezos surpassed him, relegating Musk to third place.

Since then, Bezos and Musk have been engaged in a back-and-forth battle for supremacy, exchanging the lead position on Forbes’ billionaire list 13 times in March alone.

According to Forbes, Arnault, the wealthiest individual globally, boasts a net worth of approximately $205.9 billion, placing him $5 billion ahead of Bezos, despite a significant dip in the LVMH magnate’s net worth on Wednesday.
