Islamabad United clinched their third Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) title in a thrilling last-ball victory against Multan Sultans. Chasing 160 runs, Islamabad’s Colin Munro and Martin Guptill provided a strong start. Despite Munro’s early dismissal, Guptill’s solid partnership with Azam Khan kept the innings steady. Guptill scored 50 runs off 32 balls before being run out. Although the team faced setbacks with the dismissals of Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, and Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah’s efforts took them close to victory. With one ball left, Hunain Shah’s boundary secured the win.

In the first innings, Imad Wasim’s five-wicket haul restricted Multan Sultans to 159/9. Despite Usman Khan’s half-century and Iftikhar Ahmed’s quick innings, Multan couldn’t set a higher total. Imad’s exceptional performance, supported by Shadab Khan, limited Multan’s scoring.

Both teams displayed strong performances throughout the season, with Multan Sultans winning seven out of ten matches and Islamabad United winning six of their last seven games. The final showdown between the two teams promised excitement as they aimed to secure the prestigious PSL title.
