The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has introduced a new curriculum for Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for primary schools in Islamabad, covering grades 1 to 5.

The ministry aims to equip students with essential IT and AI skills, providing a strong foundation for future technological advancements and opening up promising career paths.

“This curriculum is a living document that will be regularly updated to reflect the latest advancements in technology and AI,” a statement said. The goal is to prepare students for an increasingly digital world.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani announced that the National Curriculum Council created the new curriculum, which will be implemented in all schools starting in the third week of August after hiring computer experts.

Students will learn computer navigation, keyboarding, core apps and software, basic computer maintenance, and coding. In AI, they will study fundamental concepts and applications, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and ethical awareness.

No exams will be conducted for the IT and AI curriculum to ensure a stress-free, enjoyable learning experience.
