Islamabad Introduces 30 Electric Buses to Its Fleet

ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, another batch of 8 electric buses arrived in Islamabad, bringing the total to 30 out of the planned 160 buses.

Of the 22 buses that arrived on this occasion, a charging point has been set up at Jinnah Convention Center. Initially, these 30 buses will operate on two designated routes.

The first route will start from NUST Orange Line Depot in G-11 and end at PIMS Hospital. Along the way, it will pass through G-11 Markaz, G-10 Markaz, G-9 Markaz, and G-8 Markaz before reaching PIMS. This route consists of 13 stops, with buses scheduled to arrive at each stop every ten minutes.

The second route will begin from PIMS and conclude at Bari Imam. This route will traverse through G-7, G-6, Melody, Abpara, Ataturk Road, Serena Hotel, Foreign Office, Radio Pakistan, Diplomatic Enclave before reaching Bari Imam.

The bus service will be operational from 6 AM to 10 PM.

Upon the instructions of Chairman CDA, a procedure will be established to provide subsidies to deserving individuals, including disabled persons, students, and others.
