World’s Tallest Building and One of the World’s Most Expensive Houses Built Between 2004 and 2010
Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man with a net worth of $113 billion, owns some of the world’s most expensive real estate.
One of his most prized properties is his residence in Mumbai, India, known as Antilia, which ranks among the world’s most expensive houses.
But could it be more costly than the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai?
Antilia
Antilia rises 568 feet high on Mumbai’s Altamount Road, famously known as the billionaire’s row of the city.
The 27-floor building has its top six floors dedicated to the Reliance Industries owner’s family: Mukesh’s wife Nita, their sons Akash and Anant, Akash’s wife Shloka, and her children Prithvi and Veda.
Constructed by two US firms between 2004 and 2010, Antilia’s construction cost was INR 15,000 crore, as reported by DNA India.
Burj Khalifa
The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, soars to 2,716 feet in Dubai, comprising 163 floors with various commercial, residential, and hospitality ventures.
Also built between 2004 and 2010, the structure was constructed by a South Korean firm.
According to DNA India, the Burj Khalifa’s construction cost was $1.5 billion, which equates to over INR 12,000 crore today.
Thus, despite being the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa was built at a lower cost than Ambani’s Antilia.
