Today is the “International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers,” celebrated in Pakistan and worldwide, honoring the brave individuals who have served in UN peacekeeping missions.

Pakistan pays tribute to its courageous peacekeepers, showcasing the country’s dedication to promoting peace, reducing human suffering, and fostering stability in conflict-ridden regions.

As the largest contributor of troops to UN peacekeeping missions, Pakistan has made significant contributions. Since 1960, it has deployed around 235,000 troops to 48 UN missions in 29 countries across almost all continents.

To prevent misinformation, the PTA urged citizens to rely on official sources for updates and avoid spreading unverified information. For accurate updates regarding mobile device taxes, the public should consult the FBR directly.

Currently, about 3,000 Pakistani peacekeepers are serving in various countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Cyprus, Western Sahara, and Somalia.

Pakistani peacekeepers are known for their skill and dedication in fulfilling UN missions, significantly contributing to global peace efforts.

On this International Day of Peacekeepers, Pakistan honors the invaluable services of its peacekeepers in advancing the cause of world peace and remains committed to supporting measures that enhance the safety and security of UN peacekeepers.
