The Ministry of Interior, led by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has introduced a new policy prohibiting the issuance of passports to Pakistani citizens seeking asylum abroad. This policy, aimed at enhancing national security, mandates the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities to enforce the directive rigorously.

Under this policy, Pakistani citizens granted asylum in foreign countries will be unable to obtain new passports or renew existing ones. Additionally, passports of those already granted asylum may be revoked.

The primary objective of this policy is to prevent potential misuse of Pakistani passports by asylum seekers abroad. By implementing these measures, the government seeks to strengthen national security and exert better control over the issuance of travel documents.

Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the policy’s importance in safeguarding the country’s interests. He underscored the need for full cooperation from all concerned authorities to ensure its effective implementation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will play a pivotal role in coordinating with international agencies to enforce these regulations.
