How to Stop X (Twitter) from Using Your Data for AI Training

X, formerly Twitter, has quietly turned on a setting that lets it use your data to train its AI model, Grok. The good news is you can turn this setting off easily.

Who Needs to Worry?

This setting only affects paying users of X Premium, as Grok is exclusive to them.

What Does This Setting Do?

When enabled, X can use your posts, interactions, and conversations with Grok to improve its AI. You can turn it off, but you’ll need to do it on the web.

Data Sharing with xAI

X has mentioned that your data could be shared with its AI subsidiary, xAI. This has raised concerns about data privacy and led to some criticism.

Here’s How to Disable It:

  • Sign in to X on your PC or laptop.
  • Go to the “Privacy and safety” settings.
  • Find “Grok” and uncheck the box for “Data Sharing.”

If you turn off data sharing, you can also delete your past conversations with Grok.
