Ahsan Iqbal, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, announced that Gwadar is progressing towards becoming a world-class port city, offering numerous opportunities for growth and advancement.
He lauded the strides made through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), highlighting Gwadar’s strategic significance. According to him, CPEC is instrumental in reshaping Gwadar into a pivotal port city that will drive economic prosperity.
China has made substantial contributions to various areas in Pakistan, including Gwadar, by establishing cutting-edge port facilities and fostering socioeconomic development. Notably, a state-of-the-art hospital has been constructed in Gwadar, providing medical services comparable to those in major cities like Karachi and Lahore.
Minister Iqbal emphasized that Gwadar’s development under CPEC exemplifies how international collaboration can yield significant local benefits. The introduction of new facilities and infrastructure is anticipated to generate numerous job opportunities, stimulate the local economy, and enhance the overall quality of life for Gwadar residents.
Expressing optimism about Gwadar’s future, he highlighted that with sustained support and development, it will emerge as a prominent trade and industrial hub, attracting investments from across the globe.
