The deadly clashes between two tribes in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which lasted for six days, have now ended. The fighting, sparked by a land dispute, stopped after security forces were deployed to restore order.
The Kurram Deputy Commissioner reported that there has been no gunfire since last night in the affected areas. Efforts are ongoing to ensure peace.
The Parachinar-Peshawar highway remains closed on its seventh day, causing problems for farmers, travelers, and traders. Heavy police and security presence is in place, but normal life is disrupted.
So far, 49 people have been killed and about 200 injured in the clashes. Dr. Mir Hassan Jan from the District Headquarters Hospital confirmed that 14 more deaths occurred on Monday, raising the total death toll to 49.
