One person has died and 11 others, including several children, have been injured in a grenade attack near Quetta’s train station.
The attack occurred when unknown assailants on motorcycles threw hand grenades and then fled the scene. The police report states that the attackers threw two grenades: the first landed on the railway track without causing damage, but the second exploded in front of the station where people had gathered to celebrate Independence Day.
The deceased has been identified as Siraj Ahmed. The injured—Salman, Haris, Furqan, Abdul Waheed, Siddiqullah, Qudratullah, Khizr, Muhammad Umar, Ajwa, and Iqra Bibi—were quickly taken to the Civil Hospital’s trauma center for treatment. Tragically, children were among those hurt.
Authorities believe the attackers specifically targeted the crowd celebrating Independence Day, highlighting their malicious intent.
