The disruption of GPS signals in Karachi and Lahore’s airspace has raised concerns about flight safety, as reported on Monday.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) stated that pilots flying in these areas have experienced disruptions in GPS signals.
The CAA has acknowledged the problem and instructed pilots to inform Air Traffic Control (ATC) about any disruptions they encounter.
GPS is a system that helps pilots navigate their aircraft by providing location and time information through satellites. When these signals are disrupted, pilots may face challenges during takeoff and landing.
Recently, two international airlines reported GPS disruptions before landing at Sialkot Airport. With the help of air traffic controllers, the pilots were able to safely land their planes.
Malfunctioning GPS systems pose a significant risk to flight safety and could lead to accidents if not addressed promptly, putting passengers’ lives in danger.
