The government announced its plan to give 22,000 motorbikes to women across Pakistan under the Prime Minister Strategic Reform Initiatives for Women’s Mobility – Women on Wheels.
The initiative aims to offer motorcycles and scooters to women at discounted prices, making personal transportation more affordable. This will help women participate in various professional and educational activities.
Women from all regions, including Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, can apply. The program targets government employees, businesswomen, students, teachers, and healthcare professionals.
The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) will manage the program, providing motorcycles on a monthly payment basis. Distribution will take place from August to November.
Previously, the Chief Minister of Punjab launched a similar project providing 20,000 bikes to students under the Chief Minister Youth Initiative. This program, initiated by Maryam Nawaz, offers motorcycles for male students at Rs 11,676 per month and for female students at Rs 7,325 per month. It will start in cities like Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
