Google Meet is introducing face filters to improve appearances during online meetings, now available on the desktop version of the app. This feature was first introduced on mobile apps last year.
There are two filter options: subtle and smoothing. The subtle filter lightly enhances complexion, lightens under-eye areas, and whitens eyes. The smoothing filter enhances all three effects for a more polished look. Users can access these filters by going to the ‘Apply visual effects’ setting in Meet and selecting ‘Appearance’.
The face touchup feature is initially rolling out for premium users today, including those with Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Teaching & Learning Upgrade plans. This includes Google One and Google Workspace Individual subscribers.
Google is catching up with its rivals like Microsoft and Zoom, who introduced similar filters earlier for their users, enhancing the video conferencing experience.
