Google for Startups has unveiled the “AI Academy,” a new initiative aimed at fostering artificial intelligence innovation in Pakistan and across the Asia Pacific region. This program is part of Google’s broader commitment to supporting diverse and emerging startup communities globally.
Building on the success of the Google Chrome Book Initiative, the AI Academy will collaborate with the SIFC to forge cross-border partnerships in Pakistan. The program is set to support over 20 startups, guiding them in developing various AI-driven products with the help of international experts.
As part of the initiative, Google will offer up to $350,000 in cloud credits to these startups. Farhan S. Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, highlighted that this program underscores Google’s dedication to advancing AI technology throughout the Asia Pacific region.
The AI Academy is anticipated to position Pakistan as a key player in AI development within the region, potentially bolstering the country’s IT sector and overall economy.
