Google Cloud and Tech Valley Pakistan team up for a national startup contest in Pakistan.

Google Cloud has kicked off its Startup Competition Pakistan 2024, aiming to spotlight the country’s top tech startups and provide them with opportunities in the regional innovation scene. This competition marks Google Cloud’s acknowledgment of Pakistan’s rich talent pool and the growing potential within its startup ecosystem.

The Startup Competition invites startups nationwide to showcase their innovative ideas, products, or services to a panel of judges comprising industry experts and investors. Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, expressed excitement about the initiative, emphasizing the goal of empowering entrepreneurs leveraging cloud technologies to drive change.

The competition features five tracks focusing on areas like AI, e-commerce, fintech, digital tech, and sustainability. Five finalists from each track will advance to the Grand Finals in Karachi, where they’ll pitch their ideas. Winners from each track will receive a cash prize of PKR 1 million and networking opportunities with venture capitalists.

Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq emphasized the competition’s role in supporting local startups and driving economic growth.
