A Qatar-to-Philippines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport after experiencing a critical engine failure while traversing Pakistani airspace.
Kicking off in October, the pilot phase of this initiative will see free solar systems distributed to households in Rajanpur and Attock that consume up to 200 units of electricity per month. This phase is part of a broader plan to invest 30 billion rupees into solar technology across the region.
The solarization project will unfold in stages. After the initial rollout, the second phase will target less developed districts throughout Punjab. In this phase, households using up to 200 units of electricity will continue to receive solar systems at no cost. Meanwhile, those consuming up to 500 units will be eligible for interest-free loans to help cover the cost of solar panel installation.
This initiative represents a significant step toward sustainable energy solutions and aims to make solar power accessible to more people across Punjab.
