MARDAN: Tragedy struck in Mardan as a fire claimed the lives of five devotees residing in a dilapidated mud house near a local shrine. The house, situated on Bagh Gibran Hill along Mardan’s Buner Road, was challenging for rescue teams to access due to its hilltop location.
Emergency services were swiftly dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports of the blaze. Firefighters and medical units faced significant obstacles in their efforts to extinguish the flames and retrieve the victims, who were ultimately brought down from the hill. Despite their efforts, none of the five victims survived.
The house, occupied by devotees of the shrine, was severely damaged in the fire. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the blaze, which remains undetermined at this time.
