FIA Rescues 2 Children Missing for Two Years

By

Jul 19, 2024

In a major operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) successfully recovered two children who had been missing for two years. The children, Muhammad Huzaifa and Ahmad Umais Abid, were brought to Islamabad airport from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and were handed over to the Punjab Police.

The Punjab Police had reported the children missing at Barki Police Station in Lahore in 2022. Interpol had issued yellow notices to help find them.

FIA officials credited the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) for their successful recovery. This system connects Pakistan’s immigration database with Interpol’s, making it easier to find missing children, detect stolen passports, and catch wanted suspects at airports.
