FBR Updates Customs Value for Importing LED Lights
The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has updated the customs values for importing LED Bulb Parts and LED Light Parts from China. This new ruling replaces Valuation Ruling No. 1754/2023, issued on March 20, 2023.
The updated values now include:
- Shell Cover/Housing for LED Bulbs
- Lenses for LED Bulbs
- Bare Metal Clad Printed Circuit Boards for LED Bulbs
- Stuffed Metal Clad Printed Circuit Boards for LED Bulbs
- Constant Current Power Supply/Driver for LED Bulbs
- Base Caps for LED Bulbs
- Shell Cover/Housing for LED Lights
- Lenses for LED Lights
- Bare Metal Clad Printed Circuit Boards for LED Lights
- Stuffed Metal Clad Printed Circuit Boards for LED Lights
- Driver-on-Board (DOB) for LED Lights
- Constant Current Power Supply/Driver for LED Lights
The need for this revision arose because the previous ruling from March 20, 2023, was outdated. Changes in the costs of input materials, freight, and technology prompted the Directorate to re-evaluate the values.
Meetings with relevant stakeholders were held to discuss and review the valuation issues. Stakeholders requested that the prices for these parts be updated to reflect current market conditions. The Directorate analyzed 90 days of data and conducted a market inquiry, including consulting the QY Research database, which provides detailed industry reports and price information.
The new customs values have been set according to the relevant sections of the Customs Act, 1969.
