FBR Suspends Two Officers for Unauthorized Refund Issuance
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended two officers following a report from the Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue) concerning the illegal issuance of refunds.
According to the notification, BS-19 officer Saeeda Islam has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and suspended from her current role as Commissioner-IR (OPS) (Refunds) at the Regional Tax Office, Lahore. Previously, she served as Additional Commissioner-IR at the Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore. She is now placed at the disposal of the Admin Pool at FBR Headquarters in Islamabad, effective immediately until further notice.
Additionally, BS-18 officer Shiraza Hameed, currently serving as Deputy Commissioner-IR at the Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore, has been suspended based on a report from the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue), Islamabad. The suspension, which falls under Rule 5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020, will be effective for 120 days or until further orders, whichever comes first.
