Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has chosen to prohibit the use of Apple products at his companies. This decision was prompted by Apple’s announcement of integrating ChatGPT from OpenAI into its devices.
Musk criticized this move, citing concerns about security and how user data would be handled with ChatGPT integration. He stated that if Apple proceeds with embedding OpenAI’s technology into its operating systems, Tesla and SpaceX would no longer allow Apple devices to be used.
In response to Musk’s concerns, Apple reassured its users that data privacy would be prioritized and that user data would not be stored without consent.
Elon Musk, who co-founded OpenAI but departed in 2018, has been vocal about his disagreements with the company’s current direction. He believes integrating ChatGPT into Apple devices poses risks to data security.
Recently, Musk has been focusing on his own AI ventures. He raised $6 billion for his AI firm, xAI, aiming to shape AI development in what he considers a safer manner.
Musk’s decision to ban Apple products underscores his firm stance on data security and his ongoing rivalry with major tech firms in the AI field.
