Elon Musk Announces Tesla Will Roll Out Humanoid Robots in 2026

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that the company will start making humanoid robots, known as Optimus, next year. These robots will first be used in Tesla’s factories.

Musk hopes that by 2026, Tesla will be able to produce these robots in large quantities for other companies as well. He mentioned this plan in a recent post on X.

Other companies, like Honda and Boston Dynamics, are also working on similar robots.

Musk’s announcement came just before Tesla’s financial results were released, and it caused Tesla’s stock price to rise more than 5%.

Musk aims to produce these robots for less than $20,000 each. However, he has a history of setting ambitious goals that sometimes take longer to achieve. For instance, he previously predicted that self-driving taxis would be available by 2020 but has since delayed their launch.

Musk also confirmed that the release of Tesla’s robotaxi has been postponed. Although he did not provide a new date, he said he wants to add more features before unveiling it. This follows a Bloomberg report about the delay to October.

As Tesla experiences slower sales of electric vehicles, Musk is shifting the company’s focus towards artificial intelligence, self-driving technology, and robotics.
